BUT if every close, emotionally intimate friendship between men gets treated as secretly romantic, we’re kinda just reinforcing the same idea heteronormative culture already teaches men: emotional vulnerability is only for romantic partners.

BOTH! We need both!
Men can kiss and fall in love. They can also just be bros.
Bros can talk about their feelings; they can be vulnerable, and they can love each other deeply without it ever becoming romantic.
